Is it just me or is the end of summer/beginning of fall the best time ever to curl up with a good book?! I love when the weather shifts and there’s a cool breeze. I can grab a blanket and light some fall scented candles and read some of my favorite authors. I come from a long line of readers and have been reading since I was about 3 years old. My all time record was when I read 15 books this past March. So I got to thinking and I thought I’d share some of my recent favorites!

You guys. I’m not exaggerating when I say this is my favorite book, ever. I think it was so cleverly written and it kept me hooked from the first page. Liane Moriarty sure knows how to write a character. I’m convinced that Alice is living this life from the book and that one day I’ll bump into her while grocery shopping.
2). Big Little Lies
This was the first Liane Moriarty novel I read. I was lost in this whole story and felt like I was right there in the middle of it. This was a pretty quick read for me because I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen. The way Moriarty juggles the vast amount of characters she creates while simultaneously portraying to you their internal monologue is extraordinary. This is a must read! HBO did a mini series on this but as we all know…the book is better. So if you’ve watched the show and haven’t read this yet pick it up!
My Aunt suggested this book and we read it together. Typically when someone suggests a book I just order it on Amazon. I don’t like to read the description because I feel like for me, at least, it ruins the suspense. Anita Shreve created a brilliant fictional story from a real life event/setting. I was surprised by how much I loved this book.
My all time favorite books are thrillers! I think I finished this one in just a few hours. It’s definitely a page turner and keeps you on your toes.
I really liked this one! It had me hooked right from the beginning. It was a very unique story line and there were a lot of unsuspected twists. Pick this one up if you’re looking for a quick read.
6). Once and for All
So this one doesn’t exactly fall under the “thriller” category but I love Sarah Dessen! I have been reading her books since her very first one. I’m not sure what it is but I find it so refreshing to pick up a Young Adult book sometimes. This is just one of those feel-good books…the kind of book that makes you believe in magic again.
So I know there was a lot of buzz around this because of the show on Netlix but you need to read the book. The show was great and I think they did a wonderful job interpreting the story but we all know that the book is always better. I read this in about four hours and spent majority of the book wiping away silent tears. This book is so important to read, share, and to teach that young adults are very impressionable and that words can/do hurt.
8). A Man Called Ove
My Aunt picked this one as well and I had no idea what to expect. I will say the writing takes some getting used to. It is straight to the point. At times I even felt like it was a little slow. By the end of the book I was crying, laughing, and everything in between. It was a beautiful story.
Okay so I know this one seems obvious but I guess not. You guys would not believe how many people I’ve come across that still haven’t read this yet. Must read.
10). Gone Girl
Another one that may seem obvious but a lot of people still haven’t read. This remains my all time favorite thriller. It’s also my favorite book to movie rendition. Read, read, read.
Tip: Target price-matches Amazon for books. If you’re out and about and you see a book at Target that you’d like to pick up but you saw it on Amazon for a little bit cheaper just pull up the book on Amazon, show it to the cashier, and they will price match it for you.
So there are my top ten books to curl up and read this season. I always use Amazon to buy my books because you can’t beat the price and if you have Prime you don’t even have to leave your house and you get your book in two days! Let me know what some of your faves are!
