Shaun and I live in Rock Hill which is a super small town just outside of Charlotte, NC. When I say super small I mean you can drive on the main road for about 15 minutes and it brings you full circle back to where you started from. I also mean that I have a rooster as a backyard neighbor that sometimes wanders into my yard and yells because he seems to have gotten lost in the 50 yards that he traveled. I hope you get the picture.
When we first moved here we were constantly driving around trying to find new spots to check out and would always be disappointed that there wasn’t a whole lot to choose from. We ended up with a diner and a froyo place that we really loved (past tense because I am now sick of the diner and Shaun is now sick of the froyo).
Well, during one of our adventures we found out that Downtown Rock Hill has some pretty cool spots. We were driving through recently and I was all heart eyes over this building with the green windows. I told Shaun we had to take photos in front of this beautiful building. It was after two photoshoots that we decided to walk around to the other side of the building to see what it was. Come to find out it’s the coolest little French bakery with the best macaroons, ever!
I apologize in advance if you see this location more than a few times in upcoming photoshoots. It is just too cute! Also, how adorable is this mockup of Pont des Arts?! For those of you who don’t know Pont des Arts is a pedestrian bridge in Paris where up until recently you were allowed to bring a lock with you to the bridge. You would write your and your lovers name on the lock, attach it to the bridge, and throw the key in the river symbolizing that your love would last forever. Just a few years ago the Mayor decided the weight of the locks was ruining the structure and banned anyone from doing that. If you are able to get away with it they now have a little spy (or so I assume) who will come cut it off immediately after. When I found out the locks were all being taken down it made me super sad but then I stumbled upon this little gem. It’s not as big but it’s still the same concept. I may or may not have a lock on there for Shaun and I. 😉
